Fanfest 2025: First Speakers Announced
Forward-looking capsuleers,
EVE Online has always been about forging relationships and having unforgettable experiences. As we gear up for the upcoming expansion, Equinox, with its new opportunities in nullsec, enhanced goals and corporations, and new and exciting ways for capsuleers to express their creativity, we are also starting to get excited for EVE Fanfest.
The seventeenth iteration of the festival is coming in May 2025 and is already shaping up to be extra spectacular. The early-bird ticket tiers have sold out faster than ever before, and are close to being sold out with almost a year to go before the event! Some of the exciting events of the next Fanfest are now being announced, starting with astrophysicist Dr. Becky Smethurst and Dr. Ronald Turner, Senior Science Advisor to the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts and EVE player.
Fanfest returns to Harpa Conference Hall in 2025, and the program will include favorites like tours, announcements and reveals, dev and player presentations, and, of course, the Party at the Top of the World.
SPEAKERS FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD
As ever, Fanfest will be filled with fascinating talks from developers, EVE players, and experts in various relevant fields, the first of which have been confirmed. We are proud to welcome Dr. Becky Smethurst and Ronald Turner to Fanfest 2025. Dr. Smethurst is an award-winning astrophysicist, author, and YouTuber who is a Royal Astronomical Society Research Fellow at Oxford University. Dr. Ronald Turner is a Senior Science Advisor to the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) Program and a long-time EVE player with the character name Fa’ile.
MORE EARLY BIRD TICKETS RELEASED
Early bird ticket tiers for this edition of Fanfest have sold out faster than ever before, and with almost a year to go until the festival the first three tiers of Pioneer Early Bird tickets are fully sold out! You can still secure your spot, though, as additional early-bird tickets have been made available, but these are fully expected to sell out, so act fast!
FANFEST RETURNS TO HARPA
Many amazing Fanfest memories have been made in Harpa, the concert and conference center in downtown Reykjavik. It is particularly exciting for the festival to return to this spectacular venue in the heart of the city, close to notable landmarks and attractions, as well as the best restaurants and bars.
In addition to the program at Harpa, there will be several fun tours, gatherings, and extra events in and around Reykjavik, including Fanfest classics such as the legendary Pub Crawl, and the Party at the Top of the World. Some of these extra events are included in the ticket price, and others are sold separately. Fanfest ticket holders will be the first to know when events open for registration, so if you have already booked, keep an eye on your inbox.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
It is still early, but the Fanfest program is taking shape. There are many things still to be confirmed and announced, but we would like to give you all the information currently available, to help facilitate early planning for your trips.
The program format in 2023 was well received by attendees, and is making a return next time, with Friday and Saturday being the main program dates, but lots happening in the lead-up. Fanfest week 2025 kicks off on Monday 28 April, with extra events and social gatherings happening throughout the week. The official festival opens on Thursday 1 May, with ticket registration, social events, player presentations, tours, and more.
Seize the opportunity to make the most of your visit by booking early and getting the best deals. You can use the opportunity to see more of Reykjavik and Iceland, and many of our guests like to bring friends and family. The Sisters of EVE trip for spouses, friends and family members is always popular, and this time it is scheduled for Friday 2 May, and includes a ticket to the Party at the Top of the World.
Selected Fanfest partners offer discounts on tours, experiences, car rental, and even the FlyBus to and from the airport. These partners include FlyOver Iceland, Perlan, Elding Whale Watching, Special Tours, Lava Show, and more. Visit the Fanfest website for more info.
JOIN US – FROM ANYWHERE

See you in 2025, capsuleers!
