Community Beat for 28 March

2025-03-28 - By EVE Online Community Team

Welcome back, capsuleers!

We’re diving into another round-up of the amazing things happening across the EVE Online community—from high-stakes PvP and creative fits to real-life builds, in-game events & tournaments, awesome videos, and more. Let’s get into it.

Fit Happens

Fitting a ship in EVE can be one of the biggest hurdles when getting into new activities—but fear not! Renowned PvPer and content creator iBeast has assembled a brand-new collection of Community Fits covering a wide range of ships and roles.

Whether you’re just getting started with PvP, looking to run missions, go out exploring, dip your toe into FW, or need a solid foundation to customize from, these fits are designed to be accessible. Give them a try—and don’t forget to send your thanks (or your killmails) to iBeast!

Brick'd Out

We love it when capsuleer passion extends beyond the screen, and this one caught our eye: Kaiser Indrasil over on the EVE subreddit has designed an awesome LEGO Stratios. 4,500 bricks, hundreds of hours of design, and it shows! The proportions, detail, and clever touches bring one of EVE’s most iconic exploration ships to life.

We weren't the only ones floored. When Kaiser shared this everyone (us included!) wanted to bring this to life.

I will gather the parts and build it in 2 months tops, and - if there will be no major issues with the assembled set - the instructions themselves will take me another 2 months.

Once I've heard an opinion that instructions take even more time than design and at first I didn't believe it... and then I designed my first set (this one is second) AND IT'S ALL TRUE

We’ll be watching this project closely and can’t wait to see the final result!

NERDS Assemble!

If you haven’t tuned in yet, the first episode of our brand-new dev show—the New Eden Review Dev Show (NERDS)—is now live on YouTube, Podbean, and Spotify. Our second episode was streamed over on CCPTV this weekend with CCP Wanderer, CCP Lumi, and CCP Swift.

NERDS dives into the latest happenings in New Eden, complete with insights, conversations with devs, and the updates on all things EVE. Give it a listen, leave a comment, and let us know what you’d like to see in future episodes.

Speaking of podcasts, EVE's longest running community podcast - Declarations of War - hosted CCP Okami and CCP Kestrel this past weekend to chat about all things Revenant Major Update. If you're a podcast enjoyer, be sure to give it a listen as they discuss mining, projection, industry, ship balance, and more. Thanks for having us!

Video Corner

For those who enjoy elite-level gameplay, "Hiraeth" by Aquila is a must-watch. This beautifully edited video explores the return to high-end PvP, complete with small-gang tactics and the introspective reflections of a veteran player rediscovering the thrill of the hunt. It's astounding to see the planning and skill that goes into these kills!

Looking for something a little more spontaneous? EVE Partner and streamer CrashNaps took a Drake into an ESS and walked away with an improbable victory. Facing down a Marshal, he made the right read, took the fight—and won. It's a great reminder that in New Eden, anything can happen.

Competitive Play

The Charity Cup is back this weekend, bringing explosions, expert commentary, and top-tier competitive play!

With smaller team sizes and designated roles—1 battleship, 1 battlecruiser, 1 cruiser, a logistics ship, a destroyer, and a frigate—each comp might look structurally similar, but the execution is anything but. From kiting and rush tactics to gunspam and control comps (yes, even a railgun Hyperion), restrictions are fueling some serious creativity.

There’s no shortage of teams to root for, including Alliance Tournament XX winners The Tuskers (competing as Lazy Piglets) and newer contenders like the Blahajideen Freedom Fighters (BFFs). Catch the action live on CCPTV starting at 17:00 UTC this weekend!

Frigate Free For All

Glorious chaos returns—Frigate Free For All is back on Saturday, March 29, in Amamake!

Undock, die, re-ship, repeat. With 10,000 ships available for anyone, it’s one of the biggest and most explosive brawls of the year. Whether you’re padding your killboard, losing ships left and right, picking up loot, or just soaking in the action, it’s the perfect way to embrace the spirit of New Eden.

Several EVE Partners will be streaming the event, and you might even snag a corpse from your favorite CCP dev. Join the fray from 16:00 to 22:00 UTC!

That’s it for this edition of the Community Beat. There’s always more happening across New Eden than we can fit in one post, so keep sharing your stories, videos, events, and creations—we’ll see you next time!
