EVE Fanfest 2022 Megablog
英語のみ
Fellow Capsuleers,
After four incredibly long years, it is finally time to welcome you to our home in Reykjavik for EVE Fanfest! Next week, pilots from across the globe will be descending on the rock in force to paint the town in exclusive New Eden fashion (please expect some TiDi at local pubs). Together, we will celebrate the 19th anniversary of EVE Online and – most importantly – the fantastic community that inhabits its universe.
We are returning to a familiar location this year. The Laugardalshöll venue hosted many EVE Fanfest events in the past, and it will take on a recognizable look thanks to our generous hosts from the Caldari State. The schedule is packed with presentations, roundtables, wacky events, parties, and other activities that we all love when attending EVE Fanfest.
For everyone who cannot make it to meet with us in person, we will have a live broadcast of the event on CCPTV to showcase all the action from the venue, including all the major announcements, interviews with developers, and guest speakers.
There is a lot to cover, so without further ado, let's get started on what awaits you at EVE Fanfest 2022.
REGISTRATION
After arriving in Iceland, attendees can pre-register and pick up their passes in advance of EVE Fanfest. We will be doing pre-registration at Gróska, which houses the CCP Games headquarters. Gróska is located conveniently right outside of downtown Reykjavík and is accessible within a few minutes from the city center.
When you come to Gróska, please head over to the two elevators next to the big staircase in the atrium and come up to the 3rd floor where you will find CCP’s reception.
Here are the times you will be able to pick up your EVE Fanfest 2022 Access Pass:
- Wednesday 4 May 12:00 – 19:00 at CCP Headquarters
- Thursday 5 May 12:00 – 19:00 at CCP Headquarters
- Friday 6 May 09:00 – 11:00 at Laugardalshöll venue entrance
Keep in mind that on the morning of the first day of EVE Fanfest, it can get busy in registration at the venue, so try to pick up your passes in advance to avoid missing out on good seats in the auditorium!
COVID MEASURES
We are following Iceland’s Directorate of Health when it comes to COVID-19. At the time of writing, all the prevention rules have been lifted at the Icelandic border, meaning that no prior negative PCR tests or proof of vaccination are required. Masks and 2 meter distance rules are also not mandatory, so it is up to everyone to exercise caution as they see fit when walking about downtown Reykjavik or EVE Fanfest.
That said, we will be providing hand sanitization stations at the venue and encourage you to be mindful of other people’s personal space so that we all can have a great time throughout the entire event.
Note that depending on where are you flying from, negative PCR or rapid antigen tests might be required on your way back home. Don’t forget to check it out and plan your safe return accordingly!
EVENT SCHEDULE
This year the schedule will be conveniently accessible online via sched.com or the Sched mobile app (Android / iOS). That way you can check what is coming up next and who is presenting when on the go with your mates!
If you can't make it to Iceland in person, you can still keep up with the EVE Fanfest happenings on CCPTV over the weekend! We'll bring you all the content on the main stage from the opening to closing ceremonies including the EVE keynote, Scott Manley's presentation, tournament finals, and everything in between.
The stream will get underway at 10:30 UTC on Friday 6 May, hosted by CCP developers and our player hosts FrostEesOP, Ithica Hawk, Nth Dimensional, and Brisc Rubal. Viewers will be able to claim GalNet StreamCast SKINs just by watching and accumulating channel points which they can cash in for SKIN codes!

CCP GAMES GAMES
CCP Games Games returns in 2022 after its epic debut at EVE Fanfest 2018! Two teams comprised of players and CCP developers will go head-to-head in an array of games that will test their EVE knowledge and push them to their physical limits! (Limits adjusted accordingly for EVE players)
EVE FANFEST GLOBAL FINALS
It has been a long time coming, but champions from the EVE World Tour Tournaments in Toronto, Las Vegas, London, Finland, Berlin, Amsterdam, Sydney, St Petersburg, and our online tournament have spent the last three years training, eagerly awaiting their moment on EVE’s biggest stage.
The teams are assembled here at EVE Fanfest, ready to compete in a 2v2 single elimination tournament with an extra-special rule set befitting such an event. The action will be unfolding on both days of the event with the contentious preliminary rounds taking place on Friday beginning at 13:00 and continuing until 17:00 at the latest. During this time, head on by to the PvP room to watch your favorite teams duke it out EVE style.
But what is a tournament without a champion? The best-of-three finals will take place on Saturday on the main stage, beginning at 17:00. Make sure to stop by – or tune in – to watch the epic finale!
SATURDAY PARTY
The legendary Party at the Top of the World returns with a blast. The musical act will be featuring one of our very own and also a returning trip from an artist that has blown many a roof off the Party at the Top of the World in the past.
EVE Player, Twitch streamer and DJ Mind1 will kick off the party to warm up everyone's dancing space shoes. Following Mind1 will be a good EVE Fanfest friend, Z-Trip, performing his third show at EVE Fanfest.
Z-Trip first hosted the Party at the Top of the World in 2013, then again in 2014 where he took a short break from his world tour to give us one of the best parties ever at EVE Fanfest. This founder of the mash-up movement will complete the three-peat to thump the crowd once again.
FANFEST 2022 BREW
EVE Fanfest attendees will be enjoying two drinks made specifically for the event:
LANDFALL LAGER is traditionally brewed using water imported from springs rising from the mountains near Landfall City on New Caldari Prime. Landfall Lager is produced in Jita 4-4 in partnership with PKN Trade & Hospitality Products.
QUAFE contains large amounts of cosmic stimulants. When consumed in proper doses, these sharpen reflexes and allow Capsuleers to stay awake for extended periods of time. Useful when roaming about downtown Reykjavik or camping a gate.
FAN FAVORITE PUB CRAWLS
Join a host of CCPers and Icelandic guides as we take groups of players on a Friday night tour of the hottest bars in Iceland, starting with beers at Ingólfur Square, before taking a short walk through downtown for a night of drinks and conversations about all things New Eden.
All Pub Crawl attendees will receive beer tokens to use at the bars, a custom EVE Fanfest Pub Crawl shot glass, plus Icelandic beer and Brennivín to start out with at Ingólfur Square.
We’ll be heading out from Ingólfur Square at 19:00 UTC on 6 May for an epic journey around downtown Reykjavík, before the entire pub crawl fleets up at the final destination for a toast of epic proportions!
__We ask ticket holders to please make sure to check their emails for additional essential information regarding this event when it draws closer. __
CHARITY DINNER
An evening of drinks and food returns for this EVE Fanfest and will take place at CCP Headquarters. This time around, all the funds raised will go to our friends from AbleGamers! Also, rather than being a traditional seated set-up as in the past, the meal is going to take a more relaxed form that lets you mingle and socialise with EVE developers and CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson.
SILENT AUCTION
Over the weekend, players will be able to raise money for AbleGamers and may get to take home some unique EVE swag by bidding on our charity silent auction! There are some exotic lots up for grabs which will take pride of place in your EVE memorabilia collection - or be just the thing to start one off! Some of the items up for grabs this year include:
- A crochet plush Fedo made with love by CCP Mardol
- A one-of-a-kind EVE watercolor by Lloyd George painted for this fundraiser
- The only remaining (we think) copy of the program brochure from the very first EVE Fanfest in 2004!
- A one-of-a-kind 9" Gold Magnate prototype model
- A server blade from a historical iteration of Tranquility with an engraving signed by our tech team
- Lots more!
DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE AND CLEAR SKIES
It's Hot Drop O'Cloooock! EVE Fanfest this year will feature not one, but TWO special cinematic showings! First up on Thursday 5 May at 19:30 UTC over at the cozy cinema of Bíó Paradís there will be back-to-back showings of all 3 of Ian Chisholm's Clear Skies machinimas, plus a bonus little sneak peek at the 4th currently in progress.
Then on Sunday 8 May we head back again to Bíó Paradís for an extra special treat! Fredrik Knudsen, producer of the Down the Rabbit Hole documentary series, has been working with Andrew Groen (Author of the Empires of EVE) to produce a video chronicling the history of Eve Online!
"Down the Rabbit Hole: An EVE Online Documentary" is shaping up to be a bit of an epic-length tale to be told, but we're going to get to see the first few hours of the documentary, followed by an in-person Q&A with the whole team! Limited tickets are still available for both events!
EVE GEAR STORE
In the bustling Jita 4-4 Marketplace, you will find stylish EVE merchandise including EVE themed housewares, EVE exclusive themed clothing, and other unique accessories for you to bring home as a memento.
Here you can also find the hauntingly beautiful watercolor recreations of New Eden's spaceships by Lloyd George. This is also where you will find the silent auction items on display for you to place your bid!
The Jita 4-4 Marketplace will be open during the following hours, on site at the EVE Fanfest venue.
FRIDAY 6 MAY : 10:00 – 18:00
SATURDAY 7 May: 10:00 – 19:00
