Carbon Mass Test: Visual Updates
Adventurous capsuleers,
The march of progress is ever onward in New Eden, and you are again called upon to facilitate graphical upgrades and performance enhancements in a new test of the Carbon Engine. Participation in this upcoming mass test will ensure the latest advancements are battle-ready, enhancing the visual polish of the cluster.
Event Details
Date & time: 15 August, from 17:00 to 19:00 UTC
Server: Singularity
Capsuleers are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions in the mass test forum thread on the EVE Online forums.
Several groundbreaking features will be the focus of this mass test:
GPU-driven pipeline: Experience better utilization of hardware for increased performance. You can get a more in-depth overview of these features in this segment from Fanfest.
Upscaling solutions: Enjoy higher frame rates with new upscaling technologies that allow the game to render at a lower resolution before upscaling to the intended resolution. The latest solutions from Nvidia (DLSS), AMD (FSR), Intel (XeSS), and MetalFX for MacOS are supported.
Raytraced shadows: Witness the beauty of more accurate and sharper shadows, rendered through the dedicated hardware of the graphics card.
Be aware that some of the new features are only available in DirectX 12, so it is important to ensure that your client is running that. The game defaults to DX12, so everything should be fine unless you have previously changed the settings. Make sure you double-check your settings in the launcher to ensure the best possible experience.
Your participation is greatly appreciated, and crucial in ensuring the full optimization of these enhancements. As a measure of gratitude, all participants will be rewarded with 15,000 EverMarks, a small token for being a key part of this step in EVE’s visual evolution.
We will see you on Singularity!
Fly safe.
